Hi! I’m Tomomi. Welcome to The Pudding Party!!
I am a professionally trained pastry chef who loves British bakings and photography. I can eat scones for breakfast, tea and dessert. My favorite pudding is definitely sticky toffee pudding.
My love language is food, I love to eat but I love watching my family and friends enjoy my food.
I wasn’t a kind of girl who loved baking but art.
Because I love art, I started to learn sugar craft when I was about 20years old. I had no idea about bakings at that time. And started to think what if I learned bakings too, then I decided to enter Le Cordon Blue. It was the greatest decision I made, I enjoyed every lessons there. I was amazed how delicious real custard cream was!! (yes I had never made even custard before!)
After graduating school, I worked at a British style tea room in Tokyo. I was surprised how tasty scones and British style cakes were! And in one year, I flew to England with a student visa. I “studied English” there for about a year but more importantly I traveled all over UK and visited tea rooms every town I went. I tried to work at a tea room but there was no chance then. I came back to Japan as my visa expired. I thought I would never have a chance to work in England but when I was 25years old, I was so lucky to find a job as a pastry chef at a hotel in the Cotswolds ( the most beautiful place in England ) and got 2years working holiday visa! I was so so so excited that never worried about my English, my skill, the village life.
The hotel is famous for traditional British puddings. I learned so many traditional puddings I had never heard like jam roly poly or spotted dick!! Sticky toffee pudding is one of them.
Now I live in a beach town just outside of Tokyo with my American husband (people ask me why not British all the time lol) and two beautiful girls and Shiba mixed rescued dog called Buzz. My favorite day is spending a day with my family at the beach! And I can not wait to learn surfing with my girls!!
The Pudding Party
I started The Pudding Party long time ago as a hobby but for a while I stopped doing that, I didn’t have time or motivation for that as my life got crazy with buying a house, moving and my baby. But when that baby turned 3 and I was pregnant, I wanted to be creative again, so I decided to learn photography. And as you see, I am in love with it!
Now time to start blogging again! I hope The Pudding Party will inspire you to bake at home.
My recipes are mostly easy and quick. Sometimes healthy but most importantly delicious.
I hope you and your love ones will love my recipes, if you let me know about it, I would be so happy.
Thanks for stopping by!
